GLOSARY:


  • wailing: (n) The term wailing may reference: a heavy form of crying, usually accompanied by sobbing.
  •  force: (n) A unit that is part of some military service.


  • slave: (n) A person who is legally owned by someone else and has no personal freedom
  • abuse: (n) Bad or cruel treatment of a person or animal, or the use of something in an unsuitable or wrong way.
  • midwife: (n) A nurse who has had special training to help women give birth.
  • bothered: (adj) If you are bothered about something, it is important to you and you are worried about it.
  • intrude: (v) To become involved in a situation that people want to be private.
  • embarrassed: (adj) Feeling ashamed or shy.
  • beg: (v) To ask (someone) desperately or earnestly.
  • introduce: (v) To make (people) known by name to each other.
  • nurse: (n) A person who looks after sick or injured people in hospital.
  • stolen: (v) (v. in past participle of “steal”). To take something without the permission or knowledge of the owner and keep it or use it.
  • slender: (adj) Similar to thin, slim or narrow.
  • onslaught: (n) A fierce attack.
  • royal: (n) Of concerning a king, queen etc.
  • carriage: (n) Especially formerly, a horse-drawn passenger vehicle.
  • adopt: (v) To take (a child of other parents) as one’s own.
  • humiliation: (n) The state of being humiliated, humbled, or reduced to lowliness or submission.
